Talia Pavia – violin student
Entering the Villa Pennisi Music Festival is like watching a dream take on a corporeal shape. From the moment one enters the gates of the villa, sounds of music drift through the air as the enchanting garden undergoes a metamorphosis; it begins as a raw and picturesque rehearsal space and, though the intense efforts of the architecture workshop, it culminates into an incandescent and intimate performance venue.
The interdisciplinary nature of the festival (music, architecture, and film) is a rare and imaginative display of collaboration amongst the participants in their respective programs of study. Festival director David Romano has taken the utmost care in curating a talented and inspiring staff and faculty. And the masterclasses are lead by the finest artists that one can hope to learn from in a warm and ebullient environment.
