Ivos Margoni, born in 1999, began studying the violin at the age of six. A winner of numerous national and international competitions, in 2018 he won the National Arts Award (former Abbado Prize), establishing himself as one of the most interesting violinists of his generation. He has performed in major Italian cities and in France, Germany, Croatia Netherlands, UK and Switzerland, in some of the most prestigious festivals and seasons, such as Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Accademia dei Cameristi in Bari, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, Musica Insieme in Bologna, Amici della Musica in Florence, Amici della Musica in Padua, Amici della Musica in Verona, Associazione Alessandro Scarlatti in Naples, Classiche Forme, Istituzione Universitaria dei Concerti in Rome, Stauffer Center of Strings, Virtuoso & Belcanto Festival. He has an intense chamber music activity to his credit. He has collaborated with Salvatore Accardo, Kostantin Bogino, Bruno Giuranna, Andrea Lucchesini, Franco Petracchi, Luigi Piovano and Mikhail Zemtsov, among others. In 2020 he co-founded with cellist Stefano Bruno and pianist Giulia Loperfido the Eidos Trio, with whom he has collaborated for two years, immediately enjoying unanimous success with audiences and critics, winning first prize overall at the 2021 City of Giussano Competition, the 2021 Pakosky Prize, the 2022 Amur Committee Prize and the 2022 Renzo Giubergia Prize (De Sono Foundation). He plays regularly in a duo with pianist Alessandro Stella, with whom he recorded the EP ‘Nordic Suite,’ due out next fall on the Extended Place label, which the duo will present with a tour of Scandinavian countries. An honorable mention graduate of the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory in Naples, he continued his studies with Marco Fiorentini and Salvatore Accardo, attending the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena. He also specialized with Sonig Tchakerian at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. He has attended master classes with Liza Ferschman, Sergey Girshenko, Mihaela Martin, Francesco de Angelis, Andrea Obiso and Mariana Sirbu. She plays a violin built by master luthier Gennaro De Francesco.[/toggle]
