Quartetto Klem was founded in 2021 within the chamber music courses at Avos Project – International Music School in Rome. It is an eclectic and heterogeneous group made up of four young musicians, all four of them already passionate about chamber music. Elena Pavoncello, violinist, graduated in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Krzysztof Smietana, has performed in various chamber seasons, as well as solo violin competitions (recently winner of the first absolute prize and “Andrea Tacchi” Prize at the XXII edition of the Crescendo Prize in Florence). Sofia Bandini, violinist, has attended the string quartet class at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona and currently collaborates with important orchestras such as Orchestra of Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra of Teatro Olimpico di Vicenza and Filarmonica di Benevento. As of today, she is studying under the guidance of David Romano at the Avos Project, where she is also a teacher of the Basics Course, and also attends the Master Degree course in Musicology and Cultural Heritage at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
Carlotta Libonati, violist, is currently attending the chamber music course at Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and quartet class at Avos Project with the Quartetto Prometeo. She collaborates with Orchestra of Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra da Camera di Perugia, Parco della Musica Contemporanea Ensemble and Filarmonica di Benevento. She has also performed for many festivals including ArteScienza, Amici della musica di Ancona and recently took part in the “Solo” season of the Accademia Filarmonica Romana. Lara Biancalana, cellist and former scholarship holder at the Menuhin School, is part of the LGT Young Soloists, an international ensemble of young soloists performing in the most prestigious musical seasons. She also performed for various chamber seasons including IUC, Ridotto del Teatro alla Scala, Teatro la Fenice, Ravenna Festival, where she was invited by Giovanni Sollima. She has recently won a scholarship of Roscini-Padalino-Cucinelli Prize by Perugia Classica, and was selected as Artist in Residence of Società dei Concerti di Milano for the 2022/2023 season. Quartetto Klem is currently frequenting Quartetto Prometeo’s class and chamber music course at Avos Project and It has attended Masterclasses with Volker Jacobsen and Riccardo Minasi. Despite being a freshly formed group, it has already performed in concert seasons such as Promu – All for music, Max70 in Villa di Donato in Naples, Tramonti di Tinia by Avos Project, the Etruria Musica Festival and Oratorio del Gonfalone in Rome. It also has scheduled concerts for musical seasons such as IUC – concerti alla Sapienza and Villa Pennisi in Musica.
